The Iffley Academy awarded the RSQM

I am so thrilled that the school we have been working with the longest - over 15 years - has just achieved the Restorative Services Quality Mark - RSQM from the Restorative Justice Council. It is the first special school in the UK to achieve this prestigious award. The other 2 schools that have the award - Monmouth Comprehensive School and Childs Hill School in Barnet - are also schools we have been proud to work with for many years. All 3 schools are such wonderful places to visit and fully deserve the Quality Mark. The restorative ethos is evident from the moment people arrive. All staff are on board with the approach and there is an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect wherever you go. The RSQM is a badge of quality that demonstrates that a service provides safe, high quality restorative practice which meets the six Restorative Service Standards.Chris Straker, the RJC’s interim chief executive, said: “Congratulations to The Iffley Academy on being awarded the RSQM. I’m delighted to see that the highest quality restorative practice is being delivered in this school for children and young people with complex special education needs.”Debbie Grayson, lead practitioner at The Iffley Academy, said: “It is a great process to go through to help you to ensure you are developing high quality restorative provision across your setting. We were supported with additional training and also linked with other schools who have untaken the process or are thinking about completing the RSQM process. We are a special school and it was great that ways we need to adapt our practice for our pupils was considered.”If you would like further information about the RSQM visit:
